Soul22’s Member Vetting Matrix

Our Community Standards

Soul22 is held together by a simple expectation: show up with emotional maturity, honesty, and respect for the people around you. In practice, that means our members agree to:

  • Treat each other with care. No harassment, threats, stalking, or intimidation. No hate speech or degrading conduct. No exploitation, coercion, or predatory behavior, in any form.

  • Show up as themselves. No fake profiles, stolen identities, catfishing, or misrepresentation of who you are or what you're looking for. Trust depends on honesty, and we protect it accordingly.

  • Engage with emotional responsibility. Soul22 is a wellness and connection community — not a dating platform. We ask members to respect boundaries, communicate honestly, and engage with the kind of maturity that makes shared experiences feel safe rather than fraught.

  • Keep the space free of harm. Content or behavior that promotes violence, self-harm, bullying, explicit material, scams, or spam has no place here. These are treated as serious violations, reviewed carefully, and acted on decisively.

When something falls short of these standards, we don't look away. Reports are reviewed thoughtfully, violations are documented, and outcomes — up to and including removal from the platform — are applied consistently. The full standards are detailed in our Terms of Service & Community Standards.

How We Vet Our Members

Trust isn't assumed at Soul22 — it's built, deliberately, before a single introduction ever happens. Every prospective member moves through a comprehensive screening process, including national and county-level criminal background checks, before they're welcomed into the community. Because we value membership transparency, we want to be candid about what we look for in background checks. Our community is built on trust, safety, and mutual respect. Because of that, certain categories of past conduct, including violence, exploitation, threats, weapons related offenses, and fraud, are not compatible with membership at Soul22. If a background check identifies convictions in these areas, we won't be able to extend an invitation to join the community. Not every situation is the same. For less serious categories of past conduct, we take a thoughtful and balanced approach. We consider factors such as how long ago the incident occurred, whether it was an isolated event or part of a broader pattern, and how the matter was ultimately resolved. More recent or repeated concerns carry greater weight, while incidents that are older and isolated are viewed within their full context. Every application is evaluated using a consistent internal framework designed to ensure fairness, consistency, and sound judgment.

And the work doesn't stop at the welcome. Membership isn't a single checkpoint but is rather an ongoing relationship. We continue monitoring for new concerns throughout a member's time with us, both on and off platform. This is, in some ways, an invisible part of the Soul22 experience. Most members will never think about it once they're in. But it's also one of the most important parts of what we build: a community where the nervous system can actually rest, because the people around you have been thoughtfully, carefully considered.
